Sean and Andrea Fine are Academy Award-nominated directors and three-time Emmy award winners. For the last decade, the Fines’ distinctive visual and storytelling style has been shown in theatres, on HBO, MTV, Epix, and National Geographic. They have worked in over thirty countries, from dangerous war zones to the Arctic Circle, to bring unknown human stories to the screen.

Shine Global and the Fines’ made the film War/Dance together, which won the 2009 Best Documentary and Best Cinematography Emmy and was nominated for the 2008 Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. War/Dance?s direction, cinematography and story were honored with over eighteen awards, including the Sundance Film Festival’s award for Best Documentary Direction. War/Dance tells the amazing story about the power of music to heal and transform the lives of children living Uganda’s war zone.

Currently Fine Films is directing The Good Life for HBO, a documentary feature chronicling a mother’s race against time to save her only son from an extremely rare and fatal disease that rapidly ages children. They are directing the broadcast series In the Moment for Epix, an intensive look into the forces that create a champion athlete, from their own point of view. Thus featured: Lindsey Vonn and Amar’e Stoudemire. In addition, they are in development with Krasnoff/Foster Entertainment to write and direct a narrative feature about a young Indian running prodigy.

A few of the awards that have honored the Fines’ unique style have been Sundance Film Festival’s Best Documentary Direction; National Emmy Award; Hot Docs Film Festival’s Audience Award; Chicago Film Festival’s Outstanding Cinematography; Full Frame Film Festival’s Audience Award; The Haskell Wexler Award for Cinematography; Philadelphia Film Festival’s Best Director; Best Non-Fiction Film in Michael Moore’s Traverse City Film Festival.

Along with their theatrical work, their projects have also appeared on National Geographic, Discovery, the Sundance Channel and ABC News Nightline.
