New York, N.Y. – July 11, 2013– Nominations for the 34th Annual News and Documentary Emmy® Awards were announced today by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). We’re pleased to announce that director and cinematographer Sean Fine has been nominated for Best Cinematography for our film Inocente. The 34th Annual News & Documentary Emmy® Awards honors programming distributed during the calendar year 2012. Inocente was broadcast on MTV on August 17th, 2012 to great success. Hundreds of thousands of people tuned it and the viewer response was amazing.
The Academy Award® winning short documentary chronicles Inocente, an irresistibly likeable young girl who has overcome poverty, her undocumented status, and homelessness to win widespread recognition for her whimsical, colorful artworks. Color is her revolution.
The producers at Shine Global and Salty Features have crafted an outreach campaign to accompany the film that includes standards matched educational curricula for teachers grades 7 – university that are free to download (click here). They also worked with some of their non-profit partners to develop companion arts workshops that are available with the film for communities, organizations, and schools across the country and around the world. The News & Documentary Emmy® Awards will be presented on Tuesday, October 1 at a ceremony at Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, located in the Time Warner Center in New York City. The event will be attended by more than 1,000 television and news media industry executives, news and documentary producers and journalists. Emmy® Awards will be presented in 42 categories.
