REACT to FILM’s College Action Network screened Inocente for a national moment around homelessness on November 19th, 2014 followed by a live Google Hangout Q&A with director Andrea Nix Fine. Screenings were scheduled at New Paltz, UC Berkeley, Syracuse, Fordham, NYU, University of Michigan and more. REACT to FILM is a non-profit organization that inspires young people to engage in the real issues of today through film. Their educational program includes full-semester, for-credit elective courses for high schools and a network of college chapters that aims to educate and inspire students with films throughout the year. Shine Global is honored to be working with REACT to FILM to ensure our films inspire audiences to action!

Shine’s Academy Award® -winning short documentary Inocente is an inspiring coming-of-age story of a 15-year old girl in California. Though homeless and undocumented, she refuses to give up on her dream of being an artist, proving that her circumstances do not define her – her dreams do. The film was directed by Academy-Award® winning directors Sean Fine and Andrea Nix Fine of Fine Films. Shine’s Emmy ® award-winning film War/Dance, was also directed by the Fines and was nominated for the 2008 Academy Award® for Best Documentary.
TV Audiences in the US, Japan, Korea, Denmark, Israel, Norway, British Columbia, and sub-Saharan Africa have all had the chance to see the film. And now you can also see Inocenteif you fly select routes on Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways. We know the rest of the world wants to see Inocente too and we are working to make it available in more countries. Stay tuned for more announcements in 2015!
