SusanSusan MacLaury, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Shine Global, will be participating in the NYU Heyman Center Speaker Series “Philanthropy 3.0″on March 28th in the “Filmmakers as Fundraisers” panel.  Joining Susan will be Carolyn Jones, Cofounder, 100 People Foundation, Carlton Evans, Founder, Disposable Film Festival, Jon Vidar, Executive Director, The Tiziano Project, and Alison Klayman, filmmaker, Ai-Wei Wei: Never Sorry. The panel of filmmakers and cause-video advocates will discuss the growing influence of visual storytelling advocacy. Panelists will show clips of their work and discuss new philanthropy-filmmaking partnerships for social change — as well as the rise of ‘citizen filmmakers’ telling global stories from the streets.

The panel is part of a larger Heyman Center initiative called Philanthropy Perspectives, an ongoing forum comprised of events, seminars, panels, and writings focusing on new conversations in philanthropy. The series convenes national experts and leaders in social media, nonprofit advocacy, the arts and social enterprise to explore critical new trends, technologies and ideas that are reshaping the giving sector here and around the world.
